Health Guarantee
We extend the following instructions and health guarantee to new puppy owners. The customer has three days to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian they choose, not including weekends or holidays. Should the veterinarian state that the puppy has life-threatening physical or congenital problems, Seven Oaks Kennel will provide you with a healthy replacement puppy of the same breed, sex, and color of equal value. The puppy must be returned within three days of the veterinarian's examination and be accompanied by a letter from the examining veterinarian stating the date the puppy was examined and explaining why this puppy is a health risk, including a description of the symptoms supporting their opinion. You must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within three days of adoption, failure to do this will void this part of the guarantee.
Seven Oaks Kennel has the right to require the puppy to be returned for inspection by Seven Oaks Kennel before replacement. Upon confirmation of a congenital problem, we will replace the pup free of charge.
Hip Dysplasia
Given that many factors can contribute to hip dysplasia, including overfeeding of puppies, we require the dog to be evaluated by the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals (OFA) between 24-26 months. For our records, we require a copy of the dog's veterinary records, including a copy of the diagnosis and OFA report by 28 months.
We at Seven Oaks Kennel are very concerned should any of our offspring display moderate or severe characteristics of genetic hip dysplasia. Please inform us as early as possible as to the possibility of the disease. Concerning a positive diagnosis of moderate or severe hip dysplasia, we require the following:
- The dog must be registered and in possession of the original owner (Health Guarantee is non-transferable)
- You must not have bred the dog

Replacement Procedure
Although we sincerely hope and expect your dog to remain healthy and disease free, we offer the following replacement policy for moderate to severe hip dysplasia cases. You may select a new puppy from our first available litter as a guaranteed replacement if the replacement is greater than that paid at the original time of purchase: the buyer is responsible for paying any price difference. No cash refunds will be made.
We require that all our pups be kept on "NuVet Plus Canine" nutritional supplements until 24 months due to the variety of food and different environmental conditions the puppies can be around. Because all puppies have immune systems that take time to mature, the term of this guarantee will only be honored if they are given NuVet Plus immune system builder, as directed by the manufacturer, for the entire 24-month period. Failure to do so will void this guarantee.
