Seven Oaks Kennel
We extend the following instructions and health guarantee to new puppy owners.
The customer has 3 days, not to include weekends or holidays, to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of your choice. Should the veterinarian state that the puppy has physical or congenital problems that are life threatening. Seven Oaks Kennel will provide you with a healthy replacements puppy of the same breed, sex, color of equal value. The puppy must be return within a 3-day period of the veterinarians examination and be accompanied with a litter from the examining veterinarian stating the date the puppy was examined and explaining why his puppy is a health risk including a description of the symptom's supporting his/her opinion. Failure to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 3 days of the adoption voids this part of the guarantee.
Seven Oaks kennel has the right to require the puppy be returned for inspection by Seven Oaks Kennel prior to replacement. Upon confirmation of a congenital problem the pup will be replaced free of charge.
Given that many factors can contribute to hip dysplasia including overfeeding of puppies, we require the dog to be evaluated by the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals, (OFA) between the ages of 24-26 months. For our records, we require a copy of all veterinary records of the dog, together with a copy of the diagnosis, and OFA report by 28 months.
Submission Procedure: We at Seven Oaks Kennel are very concerned should any of our offspring display characteristics of genetic hip dysplasia, moderate or severe. We ask that you inform us as early as possible as to the possibility of the disease. With regard to a positive diagnoses of moderate or severe hip dysplasia, we require the following:
* The dog must be registered and in the possession of the original owner (Health Guarantee is non-transferrable)
* The dog must not have been bred
Although we sincerely hope and expect that your dog will remain healthy and disease free, we offer the following replacement policy for moderate to severe hip dysplasia cases. You may select a new puppy from our first available litter as a guarantee replacement fi the replacement is greater than that paid at the original time of purchase: the buyer is responsible for paying any difference in price.
No cash refunds will be made.
Due to the varying kind of food and different environmental conditions the puppies come in contact with; and the fact that all puppies have immune systems that take time to mature, we require that all our pups be kept on "NuVet Plus Canine" nutritional supplements until 24 months. The term of this guarantee will not be honored unless they are given NuVet Plus immune system builder, as directed by the manufacturer, for the entire 24 month period.
Failure to do so will void this guarantee.
Why NuVet Plus is a part of our guarantee -
As a quality breeder, my highest priority is the health of the dogs I breed. Part of that responsibility includes doing everything possible to assure their wellbeing after they go to a new home.
While all quality dog foods will provide everything needed to sustain life, virtually all of them are cooked during the manufacturing process. The heat from cooking causes much of the nutrients to be lost during the process. NuVet Plus is cold processed allowing all of the benefits of its rich nutrients to be retained, giving your new puppy an extra layer of protection, especially during the most critical first year of life.
Additionally, when puppies nurse, they rely on their mother’s colostrum (highly nutritious milk produced right after birth) for the antibodies they need to fight foreign substances. However, the maternal antibodies’ effectiveness declines as the puppy’s immune system begins to mature. By 8 weeks, your puppy’s immune system is at a vulnerable point and will soon be challenged on multiple fronts.
When a puppy is moved away from its mother and siblings to live with its new family, the immune system is weakened by the stress of adoption and exposure to bacteria and viruses in its new home.
These are pathogens for which the puppy’s body has not yet developed antibodies, and it is widely recognized that the immune system is less effective in times of stress. So starting NuVet Plus now is important to helping your puppy grow into a healthy adult.
The vaccine series is also started during this time period. Vaccines are only effective if the immune system can respond properly. If the immune system is distracted by combating free radicals and it does not receive the nutrients required to keep it strong during times of stress, the health of the puppy is at risk. The best way to prevent illness during this critical time is to provide the nutritional support required for proper immune system function.
